Vernon Davis Doesn’t Think He Did Anything Wrong, Thinks It Was a ‘Bad Call’

Filed under: 49ersAs you may already know, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis was thrown out of his team’s 34-13 loss on Sunday by his own head coach, Mike Singletary, because he wasn’t “sold out on being a part of this team.”

If there’s a positive for Davis, it’s that he didn’t have to see the end of team’s dismantling at the hands of a struggling Seattle team. If there’s a negative for Davis, it’s that he doesn’t think he did anything wrong, and said as much after the game.

From Tom Fitzgerald of the :Shaking his head in the locker room, the 49ers’ tight end said, “Not in my head. I don’t think I did anything wrong. But when the coach thinks I did something wrong, I gotta listen to him. He’s the boss.”Probably not the best course of action if you’re Davis and trying to get back on the good side of your new coach. Of course, he didn’t stop there. He then felt the need to offer comment on the call that helped lead to his early shower. As you might have guessed, he wasn’t exactly a fan of it saying, “Yeah, I really think it was a bad call.”

With the way the NFL has been throwing around fines lately, it’s a safe bet that Davis’ paycheck will be a little lighter this week for criticizing the refs.
