The 7-4 Cowboys aren't in bad shape for the playoffs. But after Thanksgiving Day against Seattle, Dallas has a difficult final four games: at Pittsburgh, home against the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens , then at Philadelphia.
Said Dallas owner Jerry Jones, "It's really going to kill me on a personal basis, and every fan just as much, if we have this team and don't get in the playoffs."
FOLK & POLK
Dallas' special teams came up big. Carlos Polk blocked a 49ers punt out of the end zone for a second-quarter safety, and Nick Folk was 4-for-4 on field goals, from 48, 41, 47 and 42 yards.
"I know I'm not here to catch a billion balls or make sacks, but special teams is what I do and something I'm proud of," Polk said.
STINGY DEFENSE
The 49ers reached the Dallas 4-yard line twice in the first quarter on long completions by quarterback Shaun Hill. But both times, San Francisco settled for field goals.
"The two goal-line stands there early certainly made a big difference in the ball game," said Dallas coach Wade Phillips. CRAYTON ENDS SKID
Former Northwestern Oklahoma State star Patrick Crayton caught his first touchdown pass since Week 6.
The receiver's 10-yard score Sunday came on the Cowboys' first possession of the second half and increased Dallas' lead to 29-6. His last touchdown before Sunday was Oct. 12 at Arizona.
Crayton had two catches for 16 yards in Sunday's game. For the season, Crayton has three scores.
