The 49ers made a big move when they signed OLB Parys Haralson to a four-year contract extension through the 2013 season. Haralson led the 49ers with eight sacks last season and showed the potential to provide double-digit sack numbers. Haralson, a fifth-round pick in 2006, was quite a find for general manager Scot McCloughan. He should be a good player for a while. Haralson signed a four-year, $15 million extension with a $6.5 million signing bonus.
The 49ers also signed veteran kicker Joe Nedney to a two-year extension through 2011. Nedney has been a model of consistency since signing with the 49ers, making 87.8 percent of his field goal attempts in four seasons.
