Miami Dolphins fans better hope the defense, and the incumbent players?like Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis, who fits all the physical attributes this regime looks for, but is allegedly lacking in the character department.

It's never good when words like quot;coach killer,quot; and quot;Prima donnaquot; are attached to your name.

quot;I knew they were one of the team's interested in me,quot; said Davis, who ran a 4.43 40-time at?the NFL?Combine.?quot;I'm a physical corner and I fit the style of their defense and their physical play, being aggressive.quot;

When asked about the Prima donna label that seems to follow him throughout the draft process, Davis said Parcells knows the type of player and person he really is.

quot;People have their opinions but every body who knows Vontae knows I'm a great person and great player,quot; said Davis, who was told he was?coming to Miami by?Ireland. quot;Bill Parcells' [endorsement] speaks louder than words. For him to draft me, he knows what type of person I am.quot;

Davis, who benched 225 pounds 25 times at the combine, described himself as aquot; gym rat,quot; and said he's going to work hard to live up to his potential in the National Football League.

Davis said he plans to push hard for a starting spot, and physically he's certainly got a chance considering he's just as big as Eric Green and Jason Allen, and is probably stronger.

quot;That's the name of the game,quot; Davis said when asked about becoming a starter.?quot;It's a competitive game and I'm going to make all the other cornerbacks much better.quot;

When I asked Vontae Davis what his expectations were for Vontae Davis, he didn't aim low.

quot;My expectations are to be the Player of the Year in the National Football League,quot; he said.
